A convenient and mild procedure for the synthesis of azlactones in the presence of catalytic amounts of calcium hydrogen phosphate as a green, inexpensive and environmentally benign catalyst has been demonstrated. The present protocol is operationally simple and offers some advantages such as good yields, short reaction time, simple work-up, low cost and reusabilityof catalyst, which makes this method mild and eco-friendly
