چکیده It is a novel report and presents flavonoids profile and essential oils composition of four Lamiaceae species (Stachys lavandulifolia, Teucrium polium, Thymus daenensis and Ziziphora clinopodioides) from Oshtorankoh located on Zagros Mountains, Iran for understanding these compounds roles in mint usages as food additive, edible, spices and medicine. Plants were collected during 2014-2015 and identified using available references. Plant material extracts examined using 2-DPC and TLC for their flavonoids pattern. Additionally, their essential oils composition was analyzed by GC/MS. All examined plant species had flavone C-& C-/O glucosides and flavonoid sulphates while lacked aglycones. Isorhamnetin, kaempferol, luteolin, orientin and quercetin were found in all taxa. None of them had not morin, rhamnetin and tricin. Naringenin and Carvacrol just found in Thymus daenensis and the most essential oils compounds% was observed in this species. Teucrium polium had the most total flavonoids number and Ziziphora clinopodioides had the least. Z. clinopodioides had Piperitone while other lacked. Stachys lavandulifolia had the most essential oils variation. These compounds variation can revealed similarity and relationship between very close taxa in lower taxonomic units and their importance in chemotaxonomic surveys of mint genera. Also plant flavonoids and essential oils increase their quality and antioxidant activity as edible, spices and medicinal plants.
