Drought stress, as one of the main environmental challenges, affects the efficiency and chemical composition of medicinal plants. The use of water absorbent polymers and nanosilicon helps mitigate the adverse effects of drought stress. In the present study, foliar spraying of silicon nanoparticles and water absorbent polymer was applied to lemon balm under drought stress conditions. The results showed that drought stress conditions triggered proline accumulation. The use of water absorbent polymer and nanosilicon significantly reduced proline accumulation. The highest antioxidant activity was observed in the treatments combining nanosilicon and water absorbent polymer.
