Developing in technology domain has been wide spread and its effects on language learning have been demanding and promising. Podcasting is defined as a new branch of technology for broadcasting audio programs. This type of programs as a state-of-the-art approach to perfecting listening skill has emerged through audio publishing online. “Podcasting “as an interesting technique is used because it offers extra listening practice in language learning both inside and outside the classroom constantly. This innovative approach has attempted to enhance different language abilities such as improving listening skill and vocabulary sub skill as the main aspects of language learning. Also, vocabulary learning domain is constantly considered as one of the main building blocks of language learning and insufficient lexical ability is a major and challenging problem of EFL learners. Vocabulary knowledge plays an indispensable role in language learning domain. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between applying podcasts and vocabulary knowledge enhancement. To achieve this goal and in the first step, 100 EFL female participants at beginner level received an PE test to make sure they were at the same level of proficiency. Then, 60 participants were selected as two experimental and control groups. They were chosen based on convenience sampling. The one group serving as the experimental group received podcasts after pre-test. The second group serving as a control group received no audio files and were taught through conventional strategies. After taking part in vocabulary pre-test, podcasts audio files, post-test, the results revealed that using podcasts was effective in learning new vocabulary items and retention of these learned items in mind over time. The data analysis of results showed that the experimental group outperformed the control group and this difference was significant. In other words, incorporation of podcasts as a supplementary procedure to vocabulary enhancement has positive effect on vocabulary learning improvement.
