چکیده
|
Tony Morison is one of the outstanding African writers who has dedicated her literature to serving the black suffering in the American society. Her novel The Hate U Give is a massive work that represents the white brutal behaviours against the black. Moreover, the novel shows how the individual and institutional racism are the daily exertion against the black who are deprived of their basic rights in the United States. Therefore, this study aims to examine the representation of racism and how the black encounter and reject such prospects of racism. To answer the research questions, I deployed both Kwame Ture and Charles V. Hamilton's Black Power: The Politics of Liberation in America (1992). The main argument of this study was that the black suffer both the individual and institutional racism in the United States because of their skin. The findings showed that racism was rejected through the black power that enabled the black to work together to gain their equal rights in that racial community which had considered the black the inferior others for centuries.
