چکیده Eowyn Ivey is among the brilliant writers who represents of the perspectives of care, love, solidarity, and respect of nature in her works in general. Her novel, The Snow Child (2012), has gained many positive criticisms for its style of blending imagination with reality to reflect the perspectives of life in Alaska. This study delivered an analysis of the representation of caring and respect of Alaska and its wilderness in this novel. The study deployed the ecocritical theories of Naess (1986) and Plumwood (1993) to highlight the human and nature interconnectedness in the novel and how nature and the wilderness of Alaska have been occupied and instrumentalized by humans. The analysis showed how living in Alaska makes one feels calmer because of the great climate and the tranquil life there. The study also indicated that Faina and Mabel, two of the characters, love the region and reject to leave it at all, and that the George family, Garrett, Faina, and Jack all share in instrumentalising the wilderness of Alaska. This study stands as one of the ecocritical works that forms a background for those who want to examine the ecocritical literature since it delivers a deep highlighting of Eowyn Ivey's The Snow Child.
