In this study, the corrosion behavior of TiN nanostructure coatings on steel substrate is investigated. TiN coating is deposited on AISI H13 (DIN 1.2344) steel by PACVD process. The field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) are used to analyze the features of deposited layers. The corrosion behaviors of uncoated and coated samples in 0.5 M NaCl and 1 M H2SO4 solutions are investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization test. For comparison, Potentiodynamic Polarization, Nyquist and Bode curves are plotted and Equivalent Electrical Circuit (EEC) models are presented. The results reveal that the corrosion resistance of the AISI H13 Steel can be increased with TiN nanostructure coatings prepared by PACVD process.
