The present research aimed at finding the relationship between Iranian high school students’ proficiency, gender, and attitude toward their teachers. To this aim, a total number of 90 high school students from Mahalat were chosen as the participants of the study. Both male and female students were included in the study. An OPT was run to classify the participants into three groups of low, intermediate and advanced students. Afterward, an attitude questionnaire was administrated to define their attitude toward their teachers. The gathered data were then analyzed through Pearson to see the possible relationship. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between the students’ proficiency levels and their attitudes toward their teachers. On the other hand, no significant relationship was found between the students’ gender and their attitudes toward their teachers. Both male and female students held the same attitudes toward their teachers. The outcomes of this study can help both learners and instructors. Learners with higher proficiency levels, have better attitudes toward their teacher and vice-versa and teachers can use this to create a better atmosphere in the class. Instructors can increase their students’ attitude to help learners improve their performance on different aspects of English skills.
