Abstract

2,3-Dihydro-4(1H)-quinazolinone derivatives are important bicyclic heterocycles due to their wide range of biological activities such as anticancer, diuretic and antibacterial activities, etc.1 Furthermore, 2,3-dihydro- 4(1H)-quinazolinones could be easily oxidized to 4(3H)- quinazolinones, which are important privileged structures in medicinal chemistry, by NaHSO3 or DDQ.2 Conventionally, 2,3-dihydro-4(1H)-quinazolinones are elaborated by the condensation reaction of anthranilamide with structurally diverse ketones or aldehydes catalyzed by bases or acids.3 Recently, magnetic nano catalyst due to usiblity and affeciency have been intrested.4 In this work, we wish to report use S-alkyl O-hydrogen sulfothioate functionalized silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles (AHST-MNPs) as new, affecient and reusable catlyst for one one-pot condensation of 2-amino benzamide and different alldehydes and ketones to synthesis corresponding 2,3-Dihydro-4(1H)-quinazolinone derivatives in mild conditions (Scheme 1).
