Abstract

Given the essential role of water in human survival, combined with the scarcity of drinkable water and its contamination from various sources, there is an urgent need for efective, cost-efcient, and rapid solutions for pollutant removal from water. To address this, we have developed four innovative photocatalysts: zeolite NaY@NiFe2O4@TiO2 doped with Pt, Pd, Au, and Ag. Each of these photocatalysts has demonstrated degradation efciencies exceeding 95%. TiO2 is extensively utilized as a photocatalyst due to its non-toxic nature, afordability, chemical stability, and strong photo-oxidation capabilities. Doping TiO2 with transition metals signifcantly enhances its photocatalytic activity under visible light. Integrating carbon-based materials, polymers, metal oxides, and clay composites with zeolites broadens their range of applications. Additionally, ferrites’ magnetic and photocatalytic properties can be utilized in photocatalytic processes. This study leverages these synergistic properties to achieve superior photocatalytic performance.
