Abstract

Simultaneousfrictiondrillingprocesswasusedtojointwodissimilarmetalsheets,AA6061andAISI304LusingatungstencarbidedrillingtoolcoatedwithAlCrN.Theimpactofpreheatingtemperaturesof250°C,300°C,and350°Conthejointqualityobtainedthroughthismethodwasanalyzedandcomparedtothejointcreatedinadrillingsampleatroomtemperature(39°C). Thefindingsshowthepositiveeffectofpreheatingonreducingthegapbetweensheetmetallayersinthevicinityofthejointandthenegativeeffectonthejointmechanicalstrength.
