Petrochemical alcoholic wastewater is one of the most pollutant and toxic wastewaters and its treatment has always been associated with a lot of problems for the petrochemical industry. Electro-Fenton process as an efficient technique can be applied to reduce the chemical oxygen demand of an alcoholic effluent prepared by 2-Ethylhexanol (2EH) unit. The Box- Behnken module was used to design the experiments and then evaluate the effect of various parameters during the treatment. The optimum conditions (81.70% for COD removal) were experimentally found at pH of 4.62, reaction time of 61.81 (min), volume ratio of H2O2 to wastewater of 1.52 (ml/l), H2O2/Fe2+ molar ratio of 3.17 and current density 68.17 (mA/cm2).
