Reconstruction of a hologram generates three diffraction components which are corresponding to virtual image, real image, and zero-order component in both optical and digital holography. In this paper two simple methods are presented to suppress the DC term in off-axis digital holography. They are based on uniformity and strength of the zero-order component. Recognition of this component and subtracting from the original reconstructed image gives an image without zero-order component.
