Different classes of secondary metabolites constitute the bioactive compounds in various plants which can be used as functional foods and active principles of herbal medicines. Flavonoids are as one set of the polyphenolic compounds among secondary metabolites in different organs of plants that possess a wide range of biological activities [1]. Medicinal and pharmacological effects of flavonoids are their contributions to human health which has made them prominent in the past 20 years [2]. Many flavonoids are active principles of medicinal plants and exhibit pharmacological effects [3]. More than 8000 flavonoids compounds have been identified in plants that afford protection against ultraviolet radiation, pathogens and herbivores. They are considered as health promoting and disease preventing dietary supplements. Epidemiological, clinical and animal studies reveal that flavonoids may exert protective effects against various disease conditions including cardiovascular disease and cancer. Flavonoids also possess antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory effects [4]. Some studies showed a positive correlation between antioxidant activity and total phenolics content [5, 6]. By the reason presence of a special, complex mixture of bioactive compounds in most of wild Iranian plant and their numerous ethno-botanical usages, this study was done for understanding their flavonoids composition and also their usages as food additive, edible, spices and medicine. Wild plants of 16 angiosperms families were collected from different parts of Iran and identified using available references and prepared herbarium voucher samples deposited at Arak University Herbarium. Their flavonoids compounds were studied using 2-dimentional paper chromatography (2-DPC), co-chromatography and thin layer chromatography (TLC). The results showed number of flavonoids, flavonoid group such as aglycones, flavones C- and C-/O glycosides, flavonoid sulphates and kind of flavonoids such as kaempherol,
