Abstract

The goal of the current study is to determine whether dietary spirulina can protect rats' male reproductive indices from the negative effects of cisplatin. of exposure to cisplatin during different stages of life on reproductive efficiency and histological changes in testes of white albino rat. The study was divided into three experiments according to life's stage at exposing applied. Experiment one (long-term exposure) The experiment involved 30 male rats, which were divided into three groups as follows: the control group; the rats in this group received normal saline injections and were fed a normal diet as treatment one; the rats in this group received injections of cisplatin were fed a normal diet as treatment two; and the rats in this group received injections of cisplatin a fed diet that contained 5% spirulina. of its remarks The experiment will have lasted for one month, and after that blood samples will be taken from five animals from each experimental group to measure the levels of reproductive hormones (FSH, LH, and Testeron) and antioxidant parameters (GSH, MAD, and SOD). Five other animals will be left to mate with healthy adult females for a period of 30 days in order to identify pregnancy rates, fertility, in order to assess the efficacy of male reproduction. One animal will have been slaughtered to isolate testis for a histopathology investigation. All research parameters will be measured in accordance with the manufacturer of the kit's instructions. This portion of the experiment examined the reproductive consequences of chronic cisplatin exposure in male and female rats (15 males and 45 females in each treated group). The animals were separated into three groups after the treatment time, as follows: Five male from the control group and fifteen females from the control group make up Group 1. 15 females from the control group and 5 males from the treated group (5g/kg B.W(body weight) make up Group 2. 5 female from the treated group (5g/kg B.W.) make up Group 3.and spirulina 5% with 15 females from control group (5μg/kg. B.W. Each one male of the above reproductive experiment was mated with one female rat of same group in a separate cage for 30 days. Sperm-positive females were housed separately and killed after delivery In conclusion it is demonstrated that using spirulina cause improvement the negative changes in male reproductive system that occurs because of administration cisplatin.
