This study examined how teaching can improve the learner's writing performance by using a different teaching method. This study explored the effect of Text Based Instruction )TBI( on writing skill and its development. Moreover, the teacher's perceptions about the importance of text-based instruction teaching were taken into consideration. To collect data, the researcher tested the students with a pre-test to measure the level of writing skill before conducting the study, after which they were divided equally into two groups. The experimental group underwent a treatment in which their teaching was applied using the TBI for a period of three months, while the other group was taught traditionally and the purpose of it was a comparison to find out the difference in the final level. In addition, a post test was administered for the two groups. The results of the study indicated that there is a clear difference between the level of the experimental group and the control group at the end of the study. Moreover, this study showed that the teacher and learners of English as a foreign language have positive attitudes towards the application of this method. Finally, the educational implications were discussed and some suggestions for future research were presented.
