Here in, we report an inexpensive, rapid and simple method to prepare chitosan-based dynamic hydrogels using chitosan and tris-aldehyde derivative of 1,3,5-triazine as main component. The carbonyl groups at triazine can cross-link chitosan through reversible schiff base (also known as imine) linkages to create dynamic hydrogels. The star-type arrangement of triazin unit permits direct interactions between NH2 group of chitosan and CHO group, cause to hydrogels with high mechanical properties. The product obtained was collected and swelled in water and centrifuged and then characterized.
