The thermonuclear rate of the 7Be(p, γ ) 8B reaction was calculated using the effective field theory (EFT) and coupled-channel formalism, considering the contribution of the excited nuclei 7Be* up to the N2LO. We also investigated how the 1+ resonance affects the reaction rate. Our conclusions from this process were consistent with the known experimental data and the results of other theoretical methods
